Default Question about a 7518 Router

I have a 7518 Porter Cable router and somehow a chip or something has gotten into the ase and I can't raise or lower it more than 1/2 inch. Any suggestions about how to correct this. Thanks

Welcome to the forums Robert. You will have to work it back and forth to clear the sawdust. You can remove the thumbscrew and spread the base slightly to help with this. I clean mine with compressed air on a regular basis. Once you have it free you can apply a coat of paste wax to the motor and inside the base to help it move freely. Never use anything wet since that will attract sawdust.

Yea, you will just have to work it back and forth. I just took the adjustable base off mine this weekend. It was crazy how much sawdust was packed into those channels.
