Very good idea, looks like something I would have come up with, but I do have an old jack and now Ya got me thinking

I do believe those scissor jack things have some potential for application as a router lift also!

Been done. I can't remember (old age), but I have seen the scissor jack used to make a router lift. Actually it wasn't all that crude either and I considered trying it as I have a brand new, still in the box jack. I finally decided against it as my Milwaukee router has table top adjustment.

When something is advertised as being foolproof there is always a better class of fool that comes along to prove them wrong.
