Default (3.1/4hp fixed or plunge in router table

I'm looking to get a 3.25hp router to put in a table but unsure if i should get fixed or plunged. Once I know which router to get what would be a good lift for it. thanks

If you are going to mount it in a lift, why would fixed or plunge base make a difference?

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

Duh yes you are right. After I read your comment I thought about it... hehe
Most of the lifts I seen are for the 2.25hp routers do they fit the bigger 3.25hp ones?

You can get a lift to fit the 3-1/4hp routers also. But as Bob suggested you can get a 3-1/4hp router with a built in lift. I have two router tables one with a Triton 3-1/4 hp with a built in lift, & a Hitachi 3-1/4 hp M12V with the Router Raizer in the other. Both setups work excellent.

Would you please post a pic of your setup.

I searched computer files & these are the only pics I have with the router tables in them. They were taken about 4 yrs ago when I was remodeling house. The triton in the pic is a 2-1/4hp model that has been since upgraded to a 3-1/4hp model with built in table adjustment. The Hitachi M12V has as Router Raizer & is the same but the table stand the table is mounted to has been modified since.
