Default Router table comparison

Ready to buy my first router table and I was comparing the Bosch RA1117 and RA1181 tables. The main difference that can see if that one has a die cast table and the other has a laminate table. Can anyone confirm the better of these two tables? Thanks

Welcome to the forum.
Some cast tables can be pretty loud. They seem to amplify the noise of the router & any vibrations.

I bought and put together the RA1181 on Friday. If you do go with that table, word of advice: when leveling the mounting plate do the corners first. There is a set screw on each corner and one on each side for a total of 8 screws. I spent about 45 minutes trying to level all 8 before I started again with the 4 side screws set to their lowest positions. I did each corner then backed the side set screws out a bit until I felt each start to raise the plate. It took only about 10 minutes to level the second time. Other than that, I am too new to routing to make any other comment

Well Chris for being new that is a good time saving tip that can be used for any plate with multiple leveling screws. Thanks.

Thanks for the welcome. Looking forward to the smell of fresh cut wood again. Been a couple of years since my last project.

Thanks for the leveling tip. I haven't made my purchase yet, but I'm still leaning toward the RA1181. However, I was also looking at the Rockler site and saw the Bench Dog ProMAX Cast Router Table Extension for Table Saws. Thinking that this option will be solid, standing height and I can keep it installed while using the table saw.

Does anyone have this style for their router?

Thanks to all for your feedback
