Default Question about plate opening diameter

I recently purchased a Rockler router table that came with a mounting plate. My concern is the plate has a 3 1/4" opening but most raised panel bits I see have a 3 1/2" diameter. Does this mean I won't be able to use this plate with those bits?

Kinda new to routing and want to make some raised panel doors. The above plate fits my current router (Hitachi m12vc). Hoping I don't have to spend more money on another plate.

Thanks,
Rut

Hi Mike

That's true but they make many panel bits that are 2 1/2" OD / 3 1/8" OD or you can use the Vert.router bits for the panels.

Many ways now days to get the job done with what you have..
