I'm looking around the site for information on constructing a router table or purchasing one.

Welcome to the forums,

You need to consider what type of work you will be doing.
If most of it will be heavy cuts on large pieces then you need to get a 3+ hp router and build or buy a heavy frame for the table.
If most of the work will be medium then the frame doesn't need to be as heavy but don't build it or buy one so light that it moves around when feeding wood into the bit. THAT'S A BAD FEELING
If all your work will be light then maybe a small trim router and bench top unit would work.

Put a good top on anything you build or you'll be pulling it off later to replace it, do it now while you are building the table. Same for the Fence.

Welcome to the Router Forums dmcm!

There is a huge 'thread' here on the topic of building router tables. Here is a *quick-link* to it.

It took me several days to read through all of the postings about 'custom table builds' but it was well worth the effort. I learned a lot about the many different 'features and considerations' when it comes to table base routing.
