Default Router Table Insert - opinions wanted

Greetings all!

I have a Ridgid TS2412 table saw (and love it!);

I am receiving a nice bonus from my employer next week and I am going to pull the trigger on buying a new router and an insert for my TS.

I am leaning towards the Bench Dog 40-102 ProMax with the 40-120 ProPlate and a Milwaukee 5616-24 configuration.

Anyone have experience with the Bench Dog inserts?

I apologize if I am covering old ground here, but I wanted to make sure I am making an informed decision.

Hello Richard,
The MLCS XCI Cast Iron model is perfect in my opinion and cheaper... take a look if you have time.

Roger, the expensive aluminum mounting plates and the inexpensive $13 phenolic plate from Grizzly have two things in common. They both have removable inserts and they both work. To my way of thinking the goal is to mount the router in a useful way for the least cost. This leaves you a lot of cash to buy router bits. Food for thought.

Guy, the part is not listed online. You have to call Grizzly and order part number PT10432047 which they have listed as an insert. You can lower the overall cost if you order more than one to offset the shipping charge. Ideal situation would be to order 4 and offer two of them to friends. Having an extra plate on hand is ideal so it is quick and easy to mount the next router. We all end up buying more.
