Default new router table top and fence

I am debating purchasing the Woodpecker or the Kreg router table top and fence. Does anyone have any experience with these two? I want to attach a Bosch 1618 underneath. Thanks, Howard

I have a Woodpecker table and am happy with it and all accesories. My plate was gotten from them too for my router, and the rings for the opening. They are a good outfit.

Howard, I am guessing your goal is to get a decent table for the lowest price possible? If I was going to buy a table now it would be the Grizzly 10432. It comes with a nice fence, dust collection port and steel stand for about $130 + shipping.

I have the Woodpeckers table, Super Fence and Aluminum Insert Plate. Costly, but well worth it in my opinion.

The only homemade fence I would even consider is the design by Pat Warner (Quillman) which not only is extremely efficient, but state of the art as well. I don't need another fence, but one of these days I am going to build the fence from plans that were in Fine Woodworking Magazine including the refinements in his second generation fence.

When something is advertised as being foolproof there is always a better class of fool that comes along to prove them wrong.

I have the same and mounted my Bosch MRC23evs to it. Plate was pre-drilled (PC690 / Bosch) and everything lined up great.... I am not sure if the 1618 has the same bolt pattern or not though. I just finished assembling everything the other day and will put it to use this weekend...Finally!!

The Bosch 1618 is a 1617 in a D handled base.

Sorry, the router is Bosch 1617EVS. Should I buy more horsepower?

hi Howard,
Well I just bought a MLCS that is on sale and free shipping. MLCS Router Table Top, Fence, and Cabinet Base
So far I really like it although I haven’t used it yet because I need to build a stand or a cabinet.

Oh i do wish i would have bought the cheap base to go with it just until I build a Bigger one.

Default Changing direction based on advice

Thanks for your advice. After reading all this information on all the different posts. I am liking the Woodpecker super fence or the Incra 17 LS mounted on a woodpecker table. Is Incra too complicated?

Howard, the 1617 will handle anything you throw at it.
