Default Adhesive & Thickness Question for Router Table Top

I'm building a router table to go into my Ridgid Table Saw. I've purchased a 1/2" sheet of phenolic plywood from Rockler for the top layer. I was planning on either glueing it with a 3/4" MDF sheet for a 1-1/4" total thickness, or 2 sheets of 1/2" MDF for a 1-1/2" total thickness.

Any suggestions for which total thickness to choose? Also, what is the best glue/adhesive to use for glueing the sheets together?

I will be putting a [email protected] lift and PC 7518 router in it if that helps...

Welcome to the forum, Andy.

As the PC 7518 is , as BJ would say "a tank or bowling ball" , I would go for the thicker of the two set ups.

I would use standard wood glue such as Titebond II.

Thanks for the answers, James. I was leaning towards the thicker one already, but it's nice to get a 2nd opinion.

The phenolic plywood is slick on both sides. Would you suggest any scoring/etc. on the bottom side to rough it up for better glueing?
