Default Sizing rails

Don't know if this is the right forum for this question, but here goes:

I just bought an Eagle America two-piece bit set to make cabinet door rails and stiles -- it's specifically for plywood panel doors with undersized quarter-inch plywood.

Is there a formula for determining how long to cut the rails for a door of any given width? Or do I just have to determine it for myself through trial and error?
