Default Just had to brag to people who would understand ;-)

I have an old benchtop router table that I hate. I've been meaning to build a table-saw extension wing table for a long time, but it's never made it to the top of my list ... until today. This morning I went into my local tool retailer (not big orange or big blue) this morning for a totally unrelated sale, and discovered that one of their employees had marked the phenolic table insert blanks, complete with leveling screws, starter pin, etc, for $10.99 rather than $39.99. The salesman said he could only sell me one at the mismarked price, so I ended up with two for $51 (I bought the second so it brought the total over his cost ... don't want to put my local store out of business, after all). I figure having a second "on file" for whatever my next router purchase happens to be will be a good thing.

Unfortunately, they didn't have the Kreg Rip in stock (the sale I went in for) but it will be in on Tuesday. I did, however, get 3 large toggle clamps on clearance for half price.

All in all, I'd say it was a good day! Now it's time to build that table, huh?

Hi Doug - nice catch Actually their regular price, $40, isn't that bad either.

John Schaben

The problem with experience is I usually get it immediately after I need it.

I know ... just never a good enough buy to say "drop your other projects and do this".

Wow, good buy!

I found a lot of stuff at the big blue mismarked. Recently I found some 2x2 steel wire shelving for 36 cents. I figured it was a mistake and didn’t pick it up but then I saw that it was still the same price a week later, so I picked up 4 of them.

Exactly! I like deals, but I really want him to stay in business. I want to be able to go in and actually handle tools rather than buy at random online.

And now I'm thinking I have an excuse to buy a new router. I want one with tabletop height adjustment perhaps. AND I want wireless, but not for under a table. And ... and ... and ... I want to win the lottery to pay for it all?
