Default Raised panel bit in Triton router

I know the larger 3 1/2 inch panel bits won't fit down in the Triton router but remember seeing a video where a pattern bit was used to enlarge the hole in the base plate using the insert plate as a guide. Has anyone done this or is there another way around it?

Thanks in advance

Don, you can add an auxiliary top to your table and set your bit above your table top. Using a Musclechuck gains you 5/8" which may be enough for the Triton; I will check this tomorrow and post a photo. (This may require a bit extension) Another option is to use vertical panel raising bits.
