Default Where to buy router motor

I am about to build myself a new router table with shop made lift. In the UK I do not seem to be able to buy the simple router motor and collet. These seem only to be available in USA. The only option over here seems to buy the whole plunge router and to take off the bits you don't need

Am I looking in the wrong places ? Can any of my compatriot members point me in the right direction.

Hi Alistair, most of the lifts I have seen are designed for the motor only section of a US type fixed base router.

However, lifts for plunge routers are available.

If you were to consider buying a router motor from North America keep in mind that our power systems are different voltages. You would need a transformer to power it.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.
