Default bosch 1619evs depth rod has 1/16"+ gap with stop turret

I am trying to find out if the 1/16" to 1/8" play in my Bosch 1619 router is normal.
I just noticed it. It looks like it has always been there, but I want to be sure it is normal. I can push the router toward the table top this distance. When I let go, it goes back to its original position. Looking at the design of it, I do not see how it can be tight. I've only had it for a month or so. The router is securely bolted to the table. It is the depth rod that has the gap with the depth stop turret.

It is the nature of that bizarre upside down system.
Not to worry if you set the motor lock; the motor head should not move.
Why worry? Because in engaged cuts (dovetails, slots, cope & stick e.g.) if there is a feed error and the work goes up or down, so does the motor and it will make an even bigger mess of the profile.
Routers are great.

Quillman - Thanks. Have you ever had anything bad happen because of it? I do have the question submitted to Bosch. But I won't hear from them until Tuesday probably.

Was in on this discovery on the first run of these big routers.
Bad happen to me? All the time but not from any router.
Lock the motor, you will be immune, PW

Here is the official answer from Bosch: Thank you for writing and for your purchase of our Bosch router and table. I'll be happy to assist you. Yes, that is normal. The weight of this model will keep it in the down position during operation.

We value you as a Bosch tool user. Please write back if there is anything further that I can assist you with.
