Default Dowel making

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone has made their own dowels using a beading bit as well as what your experience was doing it? I am hoping to start making my own dowels to eventually be used for turkey call strikers.

While it is possible, it would take a very precise setup on the router table to get a well shaped dowel. If you are wanting to make your own dowel, look into making a dowel plate.

I agree with mike. And while you are at it, make a few different sized holes.

Mike is right about accurate setup, But I have had reasonable success with a bull nose bit such as these...

I have found that hand tools are the best choice when I want to make mistakes at a slower rate of speed.

I don't suffer from insanity. I enjoy every minute of it.
