Question Opinions/preferences requested on systems

After many a moon away from woodworking, I am in the market for a routing system. I am down to the Kreg, the JessEm or the Incra systems. I will be building the base from scratch, actually from wood. I need your opinions, advice and suggestions on these choices. Thanks joe Katzenberger

In woodworking there is no scrap, only firewood.

Joe, preferences vary widely as to the best system to use. We are a bit prejudiced here towards the Router Workshop system from Oak Park. Bob and Rick's "simple is better" methods help you get the most from your time for the least outlay of money. None of the systems you mention use the larger Router Workshop style guide bushings, and this system allows for much more versatility than the PC style. Spend a few minutes reviewing the Router Workshop items at Oak Park and compare for your self. There is a link in the top right corner of this page under the button that says recommended stores. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts after comparing the Oak Park items to the others you mentioned. Welcome to the forums.

I started out with a Samona table top, router plate, and the fence. Used for a couple of years...the fence was a bear to use. The adjusting screw would stick and the fence ALWAYS flexed. I was down to using jointed sticks for my fences....which is fine for SOME routing but not all. I'm now onto the Jessem setup which includes the router lift, tabletop and fence system.....it just works.
Happiness is back.

There is one more system you might want to check out. It's made by Jointech (www.jointech.com). I recently bought the Jointech "CabinetMakers" system and I also have the basic Incra system. The Jointech and Incra are very similar and IMHO it would be hard to beat either one.

Hey Jokez,
Those are all great systems. Are you sure you can't do what you want for alot less
money. 400.00 for a router table is alot and you are talking about alot more than that. As fancy as it can be made arouter table is just a piece of plywood with a router mounted under it. You could spend less on your router table and have money for more tools
My 2 cents,
Grim
