Default Adding an encoder

Has anyone here attempted to add an encoder to your lift like the Wixey in the Jointech Smartlift? It seems like a really nice addition. I just decided I liked the Benchdog lift better and didn't like the display being embedded in the top.

I did a search here for Wixey and found basically nothing.

Personally I can't see the point of such a device when working with wood, great accuracy is not required, unlike metal, wood changes size with the seasons so less accurate methods of setting the router are all that's required.

Amen brother Harry. Mark, this is not meant to discourage you in any way. In fact we have a section dedicated to CNC routing which includes the CarveWright and home built machines. To each his own.
