Default Router Lift

Reading the Router-R-Lift II thread got me thinking.

Can anyone recommend a router lift system for a Kreg table with a Bosch 1617 motor?

Unscrewing the insert from the table to change bits it getting old.

Many thanks for reading and any suggestions that you put forth.

May the grain be ever in your favor.

I think Kreg uses the 9 1/4 X 11 3/4 "standard" plate size. The JessEm and Woodpeckers lifts should fit. Rockler lifts won't (too small) You should verify compatibility of the specific lift you opt for. JessEm Rout-R-Lift II has a version that works with the 1617 and the Mast-R-Lift II also supports the 1617. Woodpecker's PRL V2 supports the 1617.

Besides just the length and width of the insert plate, you also have to watch the corner radius of the insert. Some have more curve than others and won't just drop in, even if length and width are the same. I just bought a new, current model Kreg table, model PRS1040, and mine has 3/4" radius curves at the corners.

I have my 1617 in an Incra (Woodpecker) PRL-V2 lift. Works very well.

You shouldn't have to unscrew the insert. I had a previous table with an insert that just sat in the table top and when I changed bits I reached under the table popped it out, unclamped the router motor and slid the base w/insert off, changed bits, and reinstalled the base and set it back in the table. Never had a problem with the base moving while routing, the weight of the router held it firmly in the table top.

Berry, any of these would be an excellent choice. JessEm Mast R Lift, Incra Mas-R-Lift II (made by JessEm, Woodpeckers PRL V2 Lift.
I have the Incra Mast-R-Lift II with the cleanSweap rings and Incra router table.
Check out this video on putting a JessEm Mast R Lift in a Kreg router table > Jessem Router Plate Leveling Pads for Kreg Router Table - https://goo.gl/xMs0c0 . JessEm does have a better mounting kit to support router lifts than Kreg does with their tables.
