Default Opinions on Jessem.

I'm looking ( drooling ) over the Jessem phonelic top, aluminum insert and their fence system for my new table setup. It's gonna run me about six hundred bucks to get 'er done. what do you all think? Thanks in advance.

Jessem is a quality brand and I am sure you would be happy with it. Have you perchance visited Oak Park to see what you could get there for the same money? I think you might be very surprised.

Default Oakpark table.

Thanks for the reply, yes I did look at the Oakpark tables but they weren't what I was looking for as I wanted something bigger. I went ahead and bought the Jessem system and really like what I see so far.
Btw, I do support Oakpark for their great products, a great show and everything they do around here.

Default Jessum top

If you haven't already invested the money I would do so. It seems a little steep but in the long run it will last. As with anything it depends how well it is taken care of but it should fare very well. It does much better then the press board they sell for tops even if they say they seal it. Phenolic is very stable. If you plan on getting the Jessum insert or lift in the future buy the top with the hole in it. That way it's done. Enjoy your new top.

Jer,

Congratulations on the new set-up. Just this weekend I took a similar plunge with a Jessem top, Mastr-Lift, fence and slide. They really are very well built components. You will be very happy with your purchase.

Someone here said "if you want it bad, you get it bad". So true, I think I've replaced just about every tool I first purchased over the years with higher end ones. Trying to be positive about it, at least the cheapies taught me why I want to get the better ones. The Wolfcraft setup this replaced helped me to get comfortable and learn alot of new technique's and it's shortcomings led to this Jessem setup that I hope will be with me for the long run. Just curious, do you guys have pics or maybe tips on the cabinets you'll be putting under your top? Thanks.

You will find everything from open stands to fancy cabinets if you read through the many articles in the table mounted routing section.
