Default Rack build - which technique

Hello, thanks in advance. I am building a rack and as you can see in the video I can go about it one of three ways.

I have practiced and when I use a roundover bit and free hand the whole side including the cutouts I get some burning. I am thinking maybe I should just roundover the whole edge first, then come in and individually do the cutouts.

Here is me explaining in a short clip....I post the link due to less than 10 posts but go to youtube.com/watch?v=58JaQ3iFQOM&feature=youtu.be

Welcome to the forum. Burning is usually caused by dull and/or dirty bits and too slow a feed speed. If you using something like a round over you can compensate by not lowering the bit all the way for the first cut and then take a light finish cut.

Someone I consider a master woodworker once told me that a master woodworker is not someone who never makes mistakes. He is someone who is able to cover them up so that no one can tell.

If you're making multiples, drill the holes in the center of the part and round over the edges of the holes, both sides. Split the board into two halves. To get the roundover on the edge, use the router table but with the board on end and you shouldn't have a problem with the cutter dropping into the holes.
