I'm trying to locate a particular configuration of a 1/4" rabbeting router bit. I've got a similar one to what I want but it does a 7mm rabbet and that's just unacceptably too deep.
My dream bit:
1/2" shank
1/2" bearing
1" cutting diameter
Simple, or so I thought until I started looking. (looking for router bits on the internet is awful!).
I've got other bits that can be made to do the 1/4" rabbet but the cutters are much larger than I want.
I even looked at Freud's router bit offering but quit searching when it became obvious that their build quality was limited to speeds under 20K. I don't have routers that run that slowly.
I did find a Whiteside 1885 and may have to settle for that despite the dinky 3/8" guide bearing.
Any suggestions?
