Anyone for a source that has 120° / 130° / 140° / 150° but small diameters?
Not the usual 1/2"dia., smaller. I'd like to make a few v-carved signs.
No 3D action just plain v-bitting being its simple.
Material used will be Sintra PVC & 30lb HDU.
Probably some Rowmark engraving stock @ 1/8" also.

So yea, it would have to be shallow in depth.

Thanks all

I think what you will be finding with tip angles like that will actually be small drills for PCB drilling like this one with a 130 deg tip https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-34-111...609146?hash=item588876ccfa:g:wD4AAMXQjq5Q91ri

Tip angles vary on these PCB drills form 90 to around 165 deg

Not sure if they would work for you but you would be using the actual cutting part of the bit so they might work.

Couldn't you use a flat tip v-bit and a flat bottom v-carve toolpath for the small lettering?

Thanks Mike

I have a good feeling we're passing this one up.
On the other hand why dont they have smaller diameter
wide angle bits? We have cpl listed above @ 1-1/4" & 2"+
for larger hdu signs, ya know the ones everyone sees.

As a general rule, the larger the size of the lettering, the larger the angle of the bit. Large angle bits don't work well with small letters, as the letters would be very wide, and very shallow.

If you are only cutting 1/16" deep with a 140° bit, the lettering would be almost 3/8" wide.

Yes, was well aware of it. Some of these signs and elements
are at those sizes. A bunch of blocky lettering as well as skinnies.

For now, the project is on hold ($$)
