This is an older string, and the answers are pretty good. I am a fan of a glueline rip blade and use it for both ripping and crosscutting. Freud makes them, but not in that size. I would look for a blade that advertises that it makes a very smooth cut. I use only full kerf blades and have a think blade riving knife, which I usually leave in place. With the full kerf blade, clearance is adequate. My say has a good steel riving knife that has stayed true and vertical and in line with the blade at all times. You're probably going to wind up with a couple of blades, one for ripping (same direction as grain) and a nice crosscut blade. That's the problem with the 8 inch blades, there just isn't a big enough market to justify the full variety of blades available.
