arched rail cabinet doors

undefinedIs there any way of achieving an arched rail in rail and stile cabinet door construction without having a flat run where the arch meets the stile?

Yes but you will need a new pattern for each size of door. The flat run is to compensate for different sized doors using the same arched pattern.

Hmmm...actually it is a style of door (Cathedral Arch) that just happens to allow for the possibility of using the same template for multiple widths of door:




An arched door without the flats on either side is often called Roman:

Bob,

If I understand jimf's inquiry correctly he wants to make Roman arches (no horizontal element on the rails) and the only set of templates you linked for these was the next to last one.
