Joe, it is fairly easy, here is a step by step
1. Find a good bitmap picture of the texture you would like to use. The higher the resolution the better.
2. You do not even need to import the bitmap. On the Modeling tab click on the "Create a component form selected or imported bitmap" icon. This opens an Explorer window so you can locate the bitmap. Select the bitmap and click open.
3. You will now have a 3D component of the texture. You can resize and move the component where ever it fits best.
IF the bitmap has already been imported to the project just select the bitmap and click on the "Create a component form selected or imported bitmap" icon and the texture component will be created.
Turn off the bitmap so you only see the grayscale component.
Let me know if you need more information. I'd do a PDF but still trying to get myself back together.
