I'm considering the "Veritas" router table system from Lee Valley Tools. Any recommendations as to the best router to use with this set-up? Thanks in advance.

That depends, are you going to use the router in the table only. Will you be using a router lift, if so what type.
Dedicated for table

This router will be dedicated for the "Veritas Table system" from Lee Valley. I doubt that a lift will be used.
Thanks.
Looking on the Lee Valley site they show the router being used as the Hitachi 3.5 hp model.

IMO I'd look for a router that is plunge and comes as high as possible to the base for ease of changing bits.
Bosch, or PC

How do you regard Bosch or PC. Price will have nothing to do with my purchase. First and Foremost IS QUALITY. I will appreciate your suggestions.
Thank You Very Much.
I have a Bosch 2.5 pulunge and don't like it because of the tightness around the baseplate.
The routers I use the most are a PC 7581 it is basically just a moter as the whole base was remove and is in an Incra table w/twin leanear fence.
In the router workshop table I use a Dewlt 625.
Both of these get a lot of use and I guess i like them equally.

I have the hitachi also and it is set up with the large hole router workshop plate and for a hand held i use a Fien.

The Fien is an excellent hand held router.
Thanks

Thanks for the information. I will check out the PC as well as the DeWalt to see which one feels best and go from there. Once again, Thanks a Lot.
Regards.
The router I use is the Porter Cable 7518. It seem to be quite popular as a table mounted router. I find the height adjustment to be easier than a plunge base like the 7539. I am not using any lift accessory with my table. Although I don't have one, my other choice would be the Hitachi 3 1/2 hp model.
Wow, an 8 year old post resurected. When using a plunge router in a table the springs should be removed for ease of use, unless it is the Bosch 1619 which has a plunge lock out feature for table use. The 1619 has the largest base opening and the most plunge depth of the 3-1/4 hp models.
