Birdseye Maple marble chest

Customer gave me the measurements for a 3 drawer box to store his marbles in. He wasn't sure of the size so I made
a mock up out of spare plywood. It was too small. Next one (plywood) was too big. Third one just right. Three days
later he calls said he found some bigger marbles so need to make it bigger (I hadn't started on it yet). This is the final
version which he loved. The flag is Maple, Padauk and the blue background for the stars is Purple Heart. The cheapest
marble in the box is $60.00 ea. He paid for all the mock ups.

Larry, marbles that cost that much should have a nice box to set in. You did a fantastic job on the box.

Great job, Larry! With the size of those marbles it looks like you're going to be building another one for him very soon.

After I lose all my marbles, I know who to contact for more!! Looks good, specially the flag.

Beautiful storage unit!

$60+ for a marble?! Not for the slingshot then? ;)

Very nice, Larry.
Wow, that is a really nice box. Well done project and nice the guy paid for the mockups. I found it impossible to resist mentioning loss of ones' marbles.

Larry,

It's design is elegant and simple for its unique contents. How do the drawers slide out? And how did you fit the back of the box onto the case? I'd love to see a shot of the interior w/o drawers, too. Thank you for posting this. Lillian

Excellent work.

As an aside what does the customer do with the marbles? An active player or just show?
Lillian the drawers have side mount drawer slides. It was a year ago that I made this so I don't remember
how I did the back. Jon this was made in conjunction with the Ebony Chinese checker board I made for him.

That's really nice,
Who would have thought you could pay more than $60 for a marble?
Very nice. Our group didn't play marbles much. I could have used one years ago 'cause I don't have all my marbles.

Very nice work, Larry. The flag and splines add a lot to the clean design.
Outstanding work...Good that he's finally satisfied. I suspect that anybody that has that much passion for something will be very happy with your work.

Excellent work with the flag...YEOW...
:surprise::surprise::surprise::surprise::surprise:Excellent job, Larry.
The cheapest marble is 60 USD?
