Blade wobble/flex on startup

This is a topic that came up recently on Woodworking Talk so I thought I'd shoot a short video to see just how much my blade wobbles at startup. Turns out it's fairly slight and is over in about one second. The video is less than two minutes if you're interested in watching.

Might want to consider replacing with a new belt and improve the belt-pulley alignment and tightness.
Worn or hardenned belt may be causing the wobbling.

Nope, not considering any changes at all. All three matched set drive belts are good, tight, the blade cuts as it should, and the wobble goes away in about one second. It's done this from the start and hasn't gotten any worse, so like I said in the video - all is good.

Well it's time for a new saw.... I would just give it away to the first person who backed up their truck to your shop....

PM me your address

Don't fix it if it ain't broke. Some blades have cuts in them to relieve stress on thin kerf blades. I had a DeWalt 12 inch chop saw that had a thin kerf and those relief cuts, and if you cut too fast, it would deflect.

Thanks, Bob! I've gotten some really interesting feedback on this, really interesting.

I am not surprised, at all!
If not already, you should also post it on woodworkingtalk. (I just looked & didn't see it there)

That's what actually started all of this, a thread on WWT - My table saw blade bites into my sled, could use some advice

I didn't create a separate thread for it because it was just in response to the OP's issue with his own tablesaw.
Understood. And I did mean "in your spare time". LOL ;)
