Bob and Rick-which dovetail jig do you like?

I have seen you make dovetails only with your shop made jigs that looks sort of like sliding dovetails - never a regular style dovetail arrangement like through dovetails or half blind dovetails. Which store bought jig do you like?

Hi Paul

Just a butt in type note :) sorry :)

One of the RWS Episode they used a Rockler type jig or it may have been a HF but Bob did show how to use the jig and how to set it up for the half blind dovetails, I have it on my HD because it was that good. you know Bob and Rick.

Bj :)
I could sure benefit from watching it. I have a Keller which is great for through dovetails and if the Rockler half blind jig because effortless to set up I'd probably stick with them and use hand cut for anything else.
Hi Paul
I would send it to you BUT Copy Right Laws come into play plus it's 870mb in a .vob file format .(.vob = quick time)

Maybe Bob or Rick will jump in and give you a hint, if it's on one of the Episode they sale.

Bj :)
I wasn't suggesting that. I was hoping its going to be coming up on an episode so I can watch for it.
I know that Paul :) :)
Tell you what If you can get Bob and Ricks OK (in writing on this post) I will put in on a DVD disk and send it to you FREE it's no big deal for me. :) just a stamp or two and it's on it's way mate... :)
If we get the OK send me a PM with your address and it's done just that quick.
note**tell me what type of DVD rom you have + or - type or name.

The episode you are referring to was made during the time the show was sponsored by Porter Cable, guess who made the dovetail jig ?.

Hi Jerry
I just took a peek at the video, it looks like a PC BUT Bob or Rick (or someone) removed the sticker with a grinder I think, :) LOL, on the front of the jig, so it's hard to say for sure.
But it has 1 1/4" BRASS Knurled knobs on the hold downs.

Bj :)
Either removing the name was done later or we are talking about two different shows. The one I saw the PC name was very clear as was the name on the routers they used, also PC.

Hi Jerry

I can take a snapshot of the jig, (via. the TV card) but it's alot of work for just one picture :)
Do you know if the PC jig had BRASS knobs on it. the one you watched. ?
That would tell us for sure I think, but It's no big deal :) if we are talking about the same show.

Jerry it's funny we are talking about this one Today, It's airing on the PBS today :) or to say it aired at 1:30 A.M. and I got in on a DVD and I just check the DVD to see what was on it, and low and behold it's this one. :)
Funny Yes :) and the dovetail jig has the lable removed.

Sorry about the picture(s) they are coming from 5 sets of cables then to the PC not real clean. :)

That sure looks like the one I saw,and although it looks like a PC jig(definitely a PC battery operated router) it sure doesn't say so. I must be mistaken. Anyone connected with the show could certainly clear this up,if they would.

Please forgive Rick's not responding in a timely manner. He is very hard at work on a special project, soon to be revealed. Forum members will be the first to hear about it. Trust me it's worth the wait!
