Bosch 1600 watt plunge router MRP23EVS in USA and GOF1600CE elsewhere

My gof1600ce doesn't lock off completely after plunging and engaging the lock. Is there any factory adjustment to the lock? To get a straight answer out of Bosch seems to be impossible.
Also with the same router, the slow start ramps up in pinging stages to selected speed. This seems to be counter productive in terms of ruining the bearings. May i have other opinions about this.
