Bosch-DW-Hitachi Collets

I saw an ad on ebay that claimed that the same collet that fits a 1617 Bosch also fits a bunch of DW and Hitachi routers. I gave my son a 1617 kit a while back and I just had a chance to compare the collet from his Bosch to the one for my M12V2 Hitachi which is the same as my VC also. They appear to be identical as far as cone diameter goes and either screws onto the other router. Therefore I'm convinced that the list I'm attaching is in fact correct which may be of help to some users of these models in finding replacement collets at some point. The ad is for a 1/4" but would apply to any Imperial or metric sized collet except the OEM part numbers would be different. The attached photo is a 1617 collet on the left and a M12V2 on the right. In the photo they appear ever so slightly different in cone diameter but in my hand I couldn't see any.

That reminded me Stick that I meant to post this too from the Elaire site. If you go to this page Elaire Corporation -Router Collets and scroll down near the bottom they list Bosch WK type collets that fit some of the older Bosch models. I have an old DW610 model that uses what I am 99% sure is the same collet. I have one and measured mine according to the WK specs and they are very close to what the ad says.

More collet comparisons. The photo is for the collet in my Hitachi M12V. This link is to a Makita collet on Amazon. They appear identical. Its for routers prior to the 3612 I think. My Hitachi collet is 20mm diameter and 1.5mm thread pitch if someone has a similar one to measure.

I can confirm the DeWalt DW 621 collet nut is identical to the Hitachi M12VC collet nut and belongs to the Bosch 1604A/1618 family of collets.

The DeWalt DW 610 router collet is substantially different than the DW 621 collet, larger, although not as large as the Porter Cable (690/890/7518) collet/collet nut.
