How are you going to use it? I have both, the Triton is in my router table and I use the Bosch free hand. For me the Triton is unwieldy free hand, but excels in the router table. I like the Bosch for free hand work, I wish the dust collection option came with the router, because it does make a mess.

Bob asked the right question. I had a Bosch 23 with a fixed base. I have no experience with a Triton. I used the 23 free hand and in a table. It is a good solid freehand router and the switch in the handle helps with control.

However because the power switch is in the handle you can not use the 23 with an after market lift. I think if you do a search on the forum, you will be hard pressed to find someone who likes the 23 lifting design built into their base. The lifting mechanism is weak. Add to the fact that Bosch does not seem to polish their motor cases as some other brands do, you often have to reach under the table to help the lifting screw lift the motor. My 23 also had issues with getting dirt in the power switch when in the table.

My son has my 23 now and I still like the unit. IMHO it is just not a good long term table router.

Thanks for your quick response. I will not be using it much in a table. Your insight has told me a lot!

Thanks again.
