I know this is not a router question but there is a lot of experiance here so I need some advice.
I bought a Bosch 4100-09 table saw for a steal from the Home Depot store ( was floor model ) and was missing the table insert.
I bought a plastic insert from amazon.ca ( zero clearance ) to fit and I will be making a couple out of plywood.
In the meantime has anyone ever also made the cut in the plate with the blade at a 45 dgree cut.
By the way I made my kitchen cabinet doors but they did not turn out as good as they should be so I will remake them ( mistakes cost money and that is a great lession ).

I use the Fast Cap zero clearance strips on the factory wide slot metal insert and cut it on a 45°. They also work good on the vertical or any other degree cut. they are cheap and come in packs of 5. Homedepot and Walmart also sell them or buy them direct online.

In order to use a ZC insert for 45 I think you would have to lower the blade below the insert and then crank it to 45 before lifting through the insert again and that is a problem with most saws unless you switch to an under size blade.

You would want to do that anyway so as to not ruin the 45° insert, and replace it with a 90°insert.
I found that the zero clearance tape solved the problem of making wood inserts for all the different angles. The bosch has a thin insert,with no support around the edge but the 1/16" lip that seats in the same size groove around the table opening. Also the blade retracts only slightly through the insert not allowing for a thick wooden insert, this can all be worked around, but it is a lot simpler and faster to use the zero clerance tape. I also ordered the plastic Bosch insert for $6.00 ea. and you would have to have several for each width of blade,plus for different angles.
