Pretty sure the 1400 is similar to yours. The bottom of the posts are pinned. Not sure about the top but it looks like it would require some disassembly.

I don't think that Bosch model is common in the Americas.

Guessing here but I think the circled parts may be the stop for the top of the pillars. Unfortunately it seems to be at the bottom of the motor housing. Don't know if that's accessible without major disassembly. Maybe if you have the top cover off and plunge all the way down???

That's a shame you can't find the boots, Darren. I hope that funnel idea works but I wonder if it has similar flexibility, it may not compress as much. Your way to access the cir-clip might be of help to anyone who wants to remove the springs for router table use. Looks like it's a similar setup on other routers but they may not have the access door like on yours.
