Bosch router Craftsman table saw extension

1098 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Terry Miller 56
Hi
The mounting holes on the router are 4" apart triangular. The mounting holes on the table are 4 5/8" apart triangular. I have been unable to find a adapter ring that would make it possible to mount the router to the table. Any suggestions?
Thanks

G'day Terry, welcome to the forum.

Which model router and extension?
Welcome to the forum.
Welcome. This question really requires more information and a couple of pictures. Is the table wood, metal? Does it use a router mounting plate, or can you rout it out so you can use a router plate? If the table is a commercial model, who makes it and what's the model number.

If the table is wood, the answer is to cut an opening for a standard router plate. You can buy these pre drilled for your router. and it's pretty easy to cut an undersized opening (about an inch smaller than the plate), the rout out a lip to hold the plate, with a couple of screws for leveling the plate with the table top.

If it's a steel or cast iron table, it will require lots more information to work out a solution.
The table saw is Craftsman 315 228 390
The router wing extension is Craftsman (steel) 11108008
The router is Bosch 1617EVS

The Extension wing is obviously made to fit Sears Craftman series 315 series routers which had bigger diameter bases.
options.
1. Cheapest option is to carefully drill 3 countersunk holes to mount the Bosch 1617EVS.
2. Have a 1/4" adapter plate (e.g. aluminum) underneath with 3 3 countersunk holes to match Bosch 1617EVS and 3 tapped screw holes to match the Extension wing holes.
3. Buy a Vintage Craftman 315.XXXXXXXXXX router from ebay.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. I agree with the three options. I was hoping that 2 was commercially available. Probably proceed with 1.
