I have a Bosch table and I wax it frequently...that will prevent black marks transferring onto the wood. Clean it up good with acetone or Denatured alcohol.

Do not use chemical cleaners...wax the hell out of it with Johnson's Paste Wax and buff it in till it comes up hard. Do not use automotive wax as it contains petroleum products.

Great info, guys. I have a Bosch RT with the alum. table. I did clean it up well before waxing, but I DID use an automotive wax (Mothers). Says its "pure" carnauba, but my can is about 30 yrs old (a little dry, but still usable), so who knows. I'll check the label when I get home.

What happens if it does contain the petroleum products?

Rick

It will transfer to your workpiece and will not finish properly...think greasy fingerprints...
