I got some 8/4 bubinga lumber about 2-weeks ago. I make a lot of funeral urns for people and pets' ashes. Here are photos of what I made. The finishing wasn't to hard. I applied 2-coats of shellac then 4 coats of Zar polyurethane mixed 50/50 with mineral spirits. I always apply all finishes with the blue paper shop towels. Malcolm / Kentucky USA

Impressive -cutting the angles all the while keeping the sides the same width on the octagon box was not that easy!

Great job, Malcolm! I have some Bubinga for guitar sides and backs but have yet to build with it. Nice wood, heavy though.

I bought 170 board feet of 8/4. You are right about it being heavy. The boards were 10' long and some were 10" or so wide and 2" thick. Malcolm / Kentucky USA
