Bubinga & Live Edge Maple Box

990 Views 6 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Bstrom
Trying to get my act together making finger joints with the Freud Box Joint blade set - this little creative effort is a first round of making something from some scrap Bubinga from Woodcraft and a piece of figured Maple I got at a local guild meeting a few weeks ago. Sawed the Maple into heavy veneer strips and loved the live edge too much to remove so it just happened to fit together for this item. Finished in Waterlox and 'waxed' with Odie's Butter.

Nice, Brian! Two of my favorite woods and they look good together in this project.

Execution is subpar for any woodworker but the idea is worth trying again - next time as a slip cover version, perhaps. Thanks for your kind words all...
