Good friend is retiring this year and setting up his shop. He needs (wants) a Dewalt 735x planer (no stand). Anybody know of any sales going on now. Found one on Amazon for $499.

$499 is a good price, but the stand, spare set of blades and tables are part of the larger kit and you definitely need the two tables to make it work right for you. The stand is nice and the spare blades are good to have on hand. 735 is a really nice planer.
Comes with outfeed tables and extra set of blades. He's got a lot nicer stand than theirs.

$499 for the X is a decent buy. I think mine was a tad over $500 about 6-7 years ago.

Rockler is currently at 649$ here. Great price for a fine tool.
We'll see if it ships and is above board. Supposed to come right from Amazon warehouse. Standing by.

Look forward to updates and a review of the shipment and performance.
That was the best price I could fine. The free shipping is a plus also.

Brown truck dropped it on my front porch this afternoon. Box says 735x with outfeed tables and extra set of blades.
He's going to pick it up Saturday. I already have one. Still trying to master the best way to collect the chips in the basement with minimal mess. Planer works great.
For a long time mine fed the DC directly with minimal mess but after I upgraded the DC with a Wynn filter cartridge I added a mini cyclone to the system. Couldn’t be happier. Wonder why it took me this long.
