Hi fellow members of the forum:

I am a brand new router and am watching with avid curiousity the TV show the "Router Workshop". I plan on doing quite a bit of learning and am in the early stages of researching the purchase of equipment. Any advice would be of great appreciation.

Welcome router First to the forum. I would look for a router with a base combo package. Meaning one that has a plunge base and a fixed based models. Go the extra yard to stick with named brand the little extra you spend the better it will be in the long run. Such Hittachi, Porter Cable, Bosch, Dewalt, or read some posts I know I'm missing a couple others. Check are search on the forum hear there is a lot of good information to check on all kinds of models. And also router tables if you are interested some are pros and cons to give all are members a idea of what to watch for.
Glad to see you found the forums! Welcome to RouterForums.com.
