Hey folks new to site and to woodworking . I have a Grizzly router table the router insert is 9 x 12 it cracked while trying to install a router underneath. I am planning on getting the Triton 3 1/4 hp router and will need a plate capable of supporting . So my question is before I just reorder the replacement 9 x 12 router mounting plate or board is what they call it. I believe it's 3/8" thick. If I can't get something that big is there a way of still using the standard size plates I see like Kreg has the opening has a rabbit that holds the plates and leveler pins go off of it. Thank you in advance for help

My triton is mounted in a Woodpecker plate. It is a bit thicker than other plates, so you might need to get the template to rout out the opening a bit. It also has a twist lock insert that makes it easy to use. I got it after watching Marc Sommerfeld in one of his instructional videos. I have a Rockler table which is about 1 1/4 inch thick and decided to glue on a little reinforcement under the table to avoid any sagging. That TRA001 is a beefy machine. And the built in lift is terrific, just be careful removing the spring for under table use. Here is a video he made so you can see the setup.
My Triton is mounted in a Kreg plate. It came with the hole for the wrench pre drilled. I like that. Mine is not mounted in the table. It just sits there. When I don't need it, I lift the whole thing out and put a cover plate over the hole so the table can be used for other things.

I have the Grizz plate on a 3 1/2 hp Hitachi and no problems, I think you may have over tightened the mounting screws? Like Mike mine just sits in the table, that way if I want to take it out and do some edge routing it works like an offset plate.

Mike, my lift and plate is a Jessem. The ring set came with a solid one. Wouldn't that be easier than lifting the router out?
