Hit the E-Stop, Start, Stop, Pause, .......
Install Team Viewer "free" remote. And I use the laptop webcam to watch progress. Works great!

I've used Team Viewer for years but never in a situation like this. What's the lag time on a button press?

Oooh, that could almost work! I have about a 1 sec lag on the web cam, even if them viewer takes another sec that is still pretty fast

David, I don't notice any lag time with a key press. the webcam may be one second or less.
It's much faster than seeing a problem on a shop camera and running out there from the house to hit the E-Stop. :)
The best "Actually Free" software I've seen. (other than Fusion360) :)
Could you mount a web cam under a dust shoe so you could monitor the bit when it’s out of site hidden by the bristles . That would be cooler yet ;)
Just my opinion, my cnc is not connected to the Internet neither I have any other programs on the PC not related to the cnc. All these for safety reasons

That's definitely the safest way.
I haven't had any problems "yet"
I've only had mine a few months and I run it with a cheap $300 laptop but while Mach3 is talking to the cncrouterparts "smoothstepper" controller, I'm usually on there running Aspire designing my next project or playing on the Internet. The only thing I have disabled is "auto updates" and "power saving". Maybe I've just been lucky, we'll see. :)
