David, I don't notice any lag time with a key press. the webcam may be one second or less.
It's much faster than seeing a problem on a shop camera and running out there from the house to hit the E-Stop.
The best "Actually Free" software I've seen. (other than Fusion360)

That's definitely the safest way.
I haven't had any problems "yet"
I've only had mine a few months and I run it with a cheap $300 laptop but while Mach3 is talking to the cncrouterparts "smoothstepper" controller, I'm usually on there running Aspire designing my next project or playing on the Internet. The only thing I have disabled is "auto updates" and "power saving". Maybe I've just been lucky, we'll see.
