Hey guys, this is my first post. I'm very new to this and it would be my first router table. I have a Sawstop contractor saw and really debated getting their table to replace my current extension able but, I don't want to lose that space. I built this into my workbench when I first did it and really, I don't even use this much. Would it be possible to cut and make it into a router table or would it end up being too much effort / not worth it? I appreciate any advice. I cannot post the link but it is the Rockler 28x40 t-track table top.

This is all excellent advice, thank you. I’ve been waiting for Sawstop to have a table that can replace the extension wing on the 36 contractor but the only option is to use the PCS one and you will end up with a gap unless you mount it left of blade.

I'm in the build my own custom table club but also confess to having bought the SawStop router table and mounting to the right of my blade. That allows my Incra LS Positioner to be used more fully, at least for me. But I built and used the home built router table before even thinking about the LS Positioner and the Sawstop router table attachment.

Welcome to the forum.
Which Sawstop model do you have?
