I mentioned in my previous post that I was going to make a top cabinet for the bottom one that I made. I finally finished it. This is one project that I am glad to move out of my shop/garage. I think I'll stick to boxes and maybe some easy furniture in the future like the sofa tables and step stools that I've been making.
I always learn something new with each new project that I build, but what I learned with this one is to not build another one. I'm retired and do this as a hobby so it's supposed to be fun, right?:laugh2:
I just finished it today and my wife already has stuff in it. I guess cabinets are like clamps, you can never have too many of them.
One thing did surprise me on this build and that is that it actually fit in the recessed area on the top of the bottom cabinet. There's so many measurements and cuts that were made that any one of which could have spelled disaster (as in me with a crow bar and hammer making it fit). But miracles happen and it fit like a glove on all five sides. I consider this my greatest accomplishment on this project, but if the truth be known I think a lot of luck was involved.:laugh2:
