Sears had groups of models that were very close to each other. They would order a batch and when that sold out they would order another but the manufacturer (Ryobi in the case of all Sears tools starting with 315.) might have also run out of some of the parts they outsourced to make the first batch. Hence the different model number. If you go through the closet serial numbers you should find one that works.

All Sears routers should be in the closet? Maybe it was a Freudian slip instead of a typo.
