I would suspect speed control...
you can't..forgive my ignortardness sir however, I do have much alacrity, but... with no knob for speed control (off on switch only) how would i go about adjusting / fixing this?
me too...Remember to hang onto the router good at start up if you direct wire, soft start will be gone.
I , myself would not wire around as I don't know that much about electricity. That board might have some sort of components on it that it needs to power up. After wiring around,Maybe clamp it in the vise and turn the switch on ,THEN STAND BACK EVERYONE,plug it in and see what happens.
If the lights go down and the breaker trips, just go buy a Bosch.

Hello folks, very nice to join up here. Got a question for yall. This ole router runs but will not come up to rpm. It'll even cut some but stalls out even taking an 1/8" off soft wood, brushes appear to be good. It's clean. It's got the soft start feature but no variable speed knob so, it should speed up.... but doesnt. Any ideas as Im at a loss. I'll prolly buy a replacement but I am the curious type and need to know what's happened here. Thanks for your time and input.
Did you figure out how to do this? My router has same issue and I am looking for tips…ooooohhhh, good idea, thanks much.
