Craftsman router

Try www.ereplacementparts.com. You might get lucky. Even if they knew the original manufacturer, Craftsman changed a few parts so all parts won't interchange. Good luck.

The original manufacturer was Ryobi. Any model number that starts with 315. Neither Sears or Ereplacement show that part available. It's possible that some other routers used used the rack that is on the motor and there are only a few common diameter motors so it's possible that a base from a different router might fit it. For example my DeWalt 610 has a rack and pinion adjuster and it might fit. That would give you the opportunity to find a dead router with a good base instead which could be easier to find.

I'm sure the regulars get tired of me saying it, but why bother? It's an old and technically obsolete piece of equipment. Like driving on bald tires.

That only makes sense. All my 5 routers are old Craftsman, they all work, but if one dies, I may keep it for parts, but not about to look for any parts for them, just not worth the effort. When they all die, I toss whatever I have, and buy a new router.

I Know it's old. But I bought two of them for$5 each. I just used one with a flush trim bit and it worked fine. I have a hard time getting rid of any tool

Just keep in mind that $5 is all they're worth even if they are working. That eliminates spending money for repairs.

Quite literally, most of us either got started, long ago (in a galaxy far far away) or still have, a Craftsman router. Never use it although it still runs. I much prefer either of my Boschs. They'll take either 1/2" or 1/4' shank bits.
Do I want to get rid of the Craftsman? Nope; like you I can't let go of tools. But I recognize the value of it....$0

I understand. It still works. I can still adjust it. I have two of them. I only use them if necessary. And I'm looking at a Bosch router right now

Zach, If you haven't found a replacement pinion, private message me, I have a parts router that has what you need. You can have it for my cost of mailing it from Canada. I picked up that parts machine on kijiji for $15. It has paid for itself by providing the spindle lock ring I needed for my old machine, so I am willing to pass needed parts to others.
