Do-hicky on PC 890 plunge base?

1836 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  realsmiley
I just bought a PC 890 router with fixed and plunge bases. On the base of the plunge base there is an extra plastic part which has an upward projecting ring, the sole purpose of which appears to be to keep the router from going as low as it othewise would. There is no mention of that part in the instruction manual nor on the accompanying CD which features two good looking men that for some reason look like the guys at the top of this page :p .

Anyone know what its purpose is?

Sounds like the dust cover for setting up the vacuum...but maybe you could supply a photo?

Yes I can take a photo and have done so. See this site
That's what it is....a cover for the router bit to create a vacuum.
Thanks for that confirmation.
