One of the project books from the shows a box that has the dovetail joints on an angle and uses the contrasting woods for a cool effect. The list of items required refer to a dovetail liner set. What is that, I can't find this in the catalog on the website.

Thanks,
Corey

Look real hard at the lid,(1st picture) now turn it on a 45deg. in your mind, once you have the walnut in place make one more pass with the dovetal bit and remove the center of the walnut from the 1st dovetail pass.

Hi Corey
No, just the box joint jig to make one or two of them.
I should also note that you can use your 1/2" box jig and the 3/8" jig to get the same look .
Again look at the box real hard, at the walnut inlay.

I made my own :) with MDF stock, I made it for dovetails and siding dovetails,it's rough goldberg jig but it works.

Hi Corey

I have not made any of them :), I will take some snapshots of the jig on Sunday and post them.
-------------------
Sunday pictures ▼

Just a snapshot or two of the jig. keep in mind I didn't have any plastic around when I made the jig so I used some MDF & 1/2" Pine, but just a little plastic and a small block of poly.could be used to made it quick and easy, the hard part is the brsss pin holes need to be just right,so I used a slot and carr.bolts and wing nuts to get around all the measuring, if you watch Bob use the jig he will just move the back stop to one side or the other and make the 2nd. pass on the dovetail pin .also the pin holes for the 45deg. setup must be right on.
But you can blow the picture up (full size) to get the pin holes and where to drill them.

Just a note,,,,if you make the jig besure to buy or use a Plunge Cutting Straight Bit ( 3/4" or 1" will work fine, just a note ,,you should stick with the 3/4" slot because you will need the lip right next to the slot for the board to sit on when you make the pins ,that's to say if the stock is just a bit under 3/4" and you when you go to make the 2nd pass. )
Most Straight Bits don't like to plunge in and you need to drop and plunge the bit in the base to get a true cut on the ends, the standard straight bits will work but you will need to backup and get the slot true on ends.
