Give this a try, Take a some stock the same size as the one you are working on and put it on the end of the cut, you can clamp it down or screw it down to some scrap stock in this way the router has a place to track and keep the cut true and it will help with rip out on the end of the cut also.
Just a note**you can take a hand saw and cut off just a bit of the end of the stock that's going into the slot you just made, about 1/2" to 3/4" should do the trick then it will drop in the slot and cover the dado.
You can also use your router to trim off the ends it's quick and easy on the router table, just hold it up ,on it's edge and move it over the router bit, besure to keep it sq. to the fence with a push block and this will also help from ripping out the stock when you move it over the bit and come out of the pass.
You can also just hold it to the fence and move into the router bit but if it's plywood you will get just a bit of rip out this way.
